Marlboro Spoof!

Here's a TV ad I produced for Chinese fast food chain Hen Lin many years back. They totally gave me a free hand in it... My wife conceptualized for it, and I art-directed, scored and voiced this ad that only aired in local cinemas... despite a clearance from the (now defunct) Adboard, our ad was pulled-out when Marlboro/their agency complained. -Spoilsports! No copyright laws were violated despite the unmistakably Marlboro-ish feel... but of course with a crazy twist. Haha, it's like giving smoking the finger back

My Orchestral Piece

I found an old, old back-up CD of my musical works, and found a stash of old video captures of commercials that I composed original scores for. This particular piece is very meaningful to me (I scored this 16 years ago) since 'til now I can't read a single note of sheet music, -and I had the honor & privilege of having the Manila Chamber Orchestra play my musical composition for Jag Jeans' TV commercial. As a self-taught musician, I had to play & record each sampled instrument 'til it became a complete orchestration, and had a concert pianist (Mr. Emy Munji) transcribe everything I did into notes so the orchestra can play it under the baton of Prof. Esmilla. That to me is certainly a once in a lifetime privilege, that actually won me the Score of the Year Award from the Philippine Advertising Congress that year. That was then, when I wore a different hat. And I thank God for that.

Missing Palawan- $%^#@%$ this storm!

Watching the rain pound on my window panes, I couldn't help but miss the best trip I had this summer... El Nido in Palawan. I have Toyota to thank for that awesome opportunity, it's truly one of the country's last bastions of unspoiled natural splendor. I made sure to take home a lot of images I can mope with in this wet weather (gee thanks, typhoon

Historical Corregidor- tragically beautiful.

I recently visited Corregidor, and I'd say it was a moving experience. The ravages of war certainly withstood the test of time in this place. I could only imagine how it could have been during the war. It's shrouded in sadness, but it definitely is worth visiting.

Getting there is quite easy, via a nice 1 hour ferry ride via Sun Cruises (from Manila Bay, by the CCP Complex). You don't even have to spend the night, you can be all done with the very informative tours by mid-afternoon if you get there by mid-morning. The tour guides are very professional and quite entertaining. I highly recommend this as a weekend destination.

Some nice angles of the Audi R8

A simple yet effective press preview of the Audi R8- which in my opinion is one of the most gorgeous sports cars around. Of course, it helps to have some live solo violin in the air, and a couple of gorgeous models as well. -Meine

RangeFinder Filipinas on Man & Machine, Studio23

Here's my interview with a snap-happy group of vintage film camera collectors and enthusiasts called RangeFinder Filipinas. Such a diverse set, this group- there's a TV Director, Musician, Graphic Artist, Beautician, and everything else in between. They share a common passion though for these handsome mechanical marvels that I'm sure would never lose their luster in the decades to come. Piktyuran

Sandsurfer, Anvaya Cove

With a window of just a few minutes before we hit the road again, I had to capture these images of a grandiose sunset at Anvaya Cove with urgency. -A bit of a contrast from this serene setting, me running around to frame these angles, haha. Though the sky didn't reveal the sun's outline as it set, the dramatic orange hue more than made up for it.

The 2008 Lancer has finally arrived- in a big way too!

It's been a very long time since I've seen a Lancer I actually liked. Several models before this passed for "new" models by way of mere facelifts and lackluster upgrades in features and performance. I'm so glad the all-new Lancer is reborn for real, and is back with a vengeance. DNA from its leaner and meaner big brother Evolution X is very discernible, and it goes beyond the sheet metal. Test driving this baby thoroughly in Subic gave me a taste of its sporty yet comfortable handling, robust power, exceptional list of features and amenities for its sticker price, and of course- kick ass looks! This is not an ad for Mitsubishi... objectively speaking, I want one for myself!

Don't get me wrong, these ladies look just as gorgeous in bright light- it's just that I snapped these pics in really low light, taking advantage of those wayward spotlights and some really dim light sources.
KIller bull gets a supercar named after it.

The Lamborghini Reventon is named after a fighting bull in Spain that killed a famous Torero in the late 50's. -I wonder how that Torero feels about that, wherever he is. Anyway, this $1.4M supercar is powered by a 6.5 liter 48-valve 12 cylinder DOHC engine that pushes out 650 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. What do all those specs mean to us? -it's really fast and we can't afford it! And since only 20 were made, you can't buy one anymore even if you can afford it!!!
